Madam Speaker, I have been advocating for dental care since before my election in 2015, as the chair of a community health centre in St. Catharines that established a volunteer dental clinic. To see the look in people's eyes when they can smile is monumental. It is monumental in their lives. The Conservatives may say that they are not going to do it because it is right. Maybe it will appeal to them as an economic plan. One cannot get a job if one cannot smile at a job interview. To see someone be able to go into life without pain is significant. Again, it is shameful that they would look away and not support that. They will have to tell their constituents why they want to take away dental care from them.

Madam Speaker, I really appreciate my colleague from Drummond. I think that the vast majority of members of the House agree that we definitely need to invest more in the arts and culture sector. That is important for community economic stability. It is also very important for us to have those stories that we can share among ourselves and that help us learn more about Quebec, British Columbia or Acadia. It is important in a country as big as ours. Canada is the world's greatest democracy, where there are two official languages and a multitude of other languages. There are also people from indigenous communities, and we must share those cultures. In my opinion, we need to continue to work to increase those investments. The NDP will not stop advocating for the arts and culture sector.
