Mr. Speaker, it is true that the buildings they work in sometimes have wires hanging from the ceiling. I know that the military police station has not been kept up in decades. However, there is a place that is even worse than what we have seen in some of the barracks in Petawawa, which is Shearwater. Apparently, there is black mould and peeling paint. The mattresses were so bad, and looked like they were full of lice, that they had to be pulled out before the troops could sit in there. Now, all of this tells a potential person who is willing to put their life on the line for their country that this government does not really care about them. If it does not care about those who are signing up, training, going through the harsh conditions and putting their lives on the line, they wonder what will happen if they are injured. Is the government going to take care of them? Insofar as the housing, there are several houses that are uninhabited because the government has not put the effort into fixing them up.

Mr. Speaker, gaslighting and victim-blaming did not work. Now the member is saying that it happens in other countries too, so it does not matter as much. The member is trying to diminish the gravity of what is happening here. However, what he fails to realize entirely is that this motion was not just brought forward on behalf of the member for Wellington—Halton Hills; rather, it has been brought forth for the millions of Canadians who have come to Canada from hostile countries and who have great fears about what is happening to their families back home and even to their families here in Canada. They have these fears because the Prime Minister has yet to close down the Chinese police stations set up by the Communists there to harass citizens living in Canada. With the lack of importance given to securing our very own members in the House of Commons, what kind of confidence can new Canadians have in their security?

Madam Speaker, the member opposite does not have to worry about a previous prime minister coming back to power, because right now what he noted is already happening. With Bill C-21, the police could come into people's homes. They are made into paper criminals just by virtue of the Liberals' declaring that certain firearms are now prohibited. It is already happening, and he does not have to wait for the best prime minister this country ever had to return.
