Mr. Speaker, what we know is that, after eight years under this Prime Minister, people are worried about ending up on the street. Not once, but twice, the Bloc Québécois voted against a motion to cancel the two carbon taxes, namely the federal carbon tax and the clean fuel regulations, which drove the price per litre up by 17¢ for Quebeckers. Twice the Bloc Québécois said no. The Liberal member for Avalon, Nova Scotia, asked the Prime Minister to cancel the carbon tax, which is driving costs up for all Canadians and Quebeckers. Will he do it?

Mr. Speaker, Quebec's minister of higher education has asked universities to cancel their partnerships with Huawei, which is a threat to Canada's security. Since this is a matter of federal public safety, she also asked the Prime Minister to provide the provinces with guidelines for banning Huawei from provincial institutions. She has asked for this, but this Liberal government still refuses to respond. From the very beginning, the Prime Minister has been dragging his feet when it comes to Chinese interference. The danger is real. When will he respond to Minister Déry?

Mr. Speaker, we all remember when the Minister of Finance said that she could afford to increase the debt to record levels because the interest rates were so low. Now that she is vying for the Prime Minister's job, she is changing her tune and warning Canadians of the dangers of rising inflation and the fact that her government has to tighten its belt. In the meantime, millions of Canadians cannot make ends meet. Can the Prime Minister confirm that he will cancel the carbon tax?

Mr. Speaker, it is no secret that there is some bickering going on within the Liberal cabinet. The first public indication of this friction was in 2020, when former finance minister Bill Morneau walked away from the job because he opposed his Prime Minister's spending spree. That friction reached a breaking point last week when the Minister of Finance publicly contradicted her boss by saying that her government would have to tighten its belt. It is clear to us that the government must stop these inflationary measures immediately. Will the Prime Minister commit to cancelling his plan to triple the carbon tax?

Mr. Speaker, what is clear is that in the past two years the Liberal government has increased the deficit by $500 billion. In that regard, the Parliamentary Budget Officer said that $200 billion had nothing to do with COVID‑19. That represents a shameless waste of public money and today, with the increase in interest rates, we must pay more to service that debt. On top of that, the Liberals want to inflict further pain on Canadians already struggling financially by refusing to cancel the tripling of the notorious carbon tax. Will they cancel it?
